With prices constantly rising across everything from food to houses it is always helpful to start making some side income. Sometimes having a part or full-time job just doesn't make the income that you want or need, but there are things you can do to start making a little extra cash on from other sources. It is important to remember that these tips can take a little time to get good at so if you struggle at first do not give up, like everything it just takes a bit of practice.

Scrap Metal

If you have old appliances lying around you might want to check if you can offload them at your local scrap metal merchant as many buy them for their metal content. Not only will they take what is essentially rubbish to you off your hands, but they will also pay you for it. While that may be an infrequent source of income, you can increase this by going out and looking for scrap metal. Dumpsters, side of the road rubbish collections and construction sites are all good places to look for scrap metal. However, if you go to a construction site, never take any scrap metal without first getting permission, as this can be seen as stealing. Explain to the site manager what you are doing, and they may even help you because you are taking excess metal off their hands for free.

Reselling Luxury Items

The reselling market for rare, high-end clothing and footwear items has never been bigger. Brands like SupremeYEEZYA Bathing Ape and more routinely sell out instantly of their items whenever they appear for sale. You can get some of these items by either practising purchasing them as quickly as possible or by buying the use of a bot to buy the items for you instantly. Then, once you have the items, you should check forums on social media to see how much each item is reselling for and try to match those prices. You should be able to turn a profit of tens to hundreds of dollars per item, depending on how rare they are. Be careful though, as this is a highly volatile market, so if your item isn't selling quickly, you should lower its price and try to get rid of it before it stagnates, and you lose money.

Freelance Writing

While not for everyone, for those able to write coherent articles there is money to be made in writing for different websites. Quite a few news and current affair websites accept article submissions and, if your article is accepted, you will be paid. Along with this, if you are more creative, there are always competitions around for short stories both fiction and non-fiction. Not everyone can get into the rhythm of professional writing, but if you practice and keep at it, you should be able to make consistent money from freelancing.
